When the play becomes colourful, turns into a permanent feature...
Under the aegis of the Genie des jardins 2007, I chose the garden in the cité Prost, (or square de la folie Titon), located 24 rue Chanzy in Paris.
This fairly recent garden includes youngish and interesting plants, together with integrating architectural features.
My eyes were particularly drawn to the criss-crossing wooden alleys at the entrance to the garden, which are surrounded with different kinds of plants. My project consisted in associating and carefully placing rectangular and vividly painted pieces of wood in these alleys, with the general pattern creating a kind of dotted drawing along the borders.
These painted pieces of wood – which I also used in my work on wooden boxes – make up a colourful, albeit transitory, contribution to this contemporary-looking garden. They follow the wooden lines at the crossing between two alleys.
